Part-time Technical Writer/Editorial Assistant
New York City,

SupStat is a data analytic consulting firm of software and support for the open source “R” statistical computing language and big data open source tools, such as “Hadoop”, “Hive” and “Spark”. Our partners, including Revolution Analytics, Rstudio, and Transwarp. We support Revolution R, Revolution R Enterprise, Rhadoop Rstudio Server, Shiny, Spark on Yarn and R related products.

Those products enable statisticians, scientists and others to create superior predictive models and derive meaning from mission-critical data in record time.

SupStat works closely with the R community to incorporate the latest developments in open source R and with our clients to support their efforts to produce ground-breaking innovations in life sciences, financial services, geographic data and other industries where high-level analytics are crucial to success.

Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for writing and editing website content, end-user documentation and internal documentation for SupStat’s consulting site, data school site and meetup sites:
* www.supstat.com
* www.nycdatascience.com
* www.nycopendata.com
* www.meetup.com/nyc-open-data
* www.meetup.com/nyc-data-science-academy
and keep up with facebook and twitter acct for supstat,nyc_open_data, nyc_data_science.

You should have familiarity with one or more of the following:
* Statistics
* R
* Social media and marketing

You will need to gather and edit materials from engineers, as well as document products from designs and hands-on usage. You must formulate examples that clearly demonstrate service and product functionality. Experience with big data social media promotion and marketing is a help.

Location: 500 7th Ave, 17th floor, New York, NY, United States, 10018
You will come in for two days/week or work remotely for at least 10 hours/week.
