Full-Time Senior Statistical (R) Programmer / Analytics Engineer

CARD.COM is a well-funded financial startup in Santa Monica, CA. We issue Visa debit cards that connect brands with their fans and enable our customers to make a social statement with their payment. Data and scientific insights are at the core of CARD.COM’s operations. We’re looking to grow our Data Sciences & Analytics Team with an Experienced Statistical Programmer who would develop and maintain our real-time analytics platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, manage and optimize our R-based real-time analytics platform
  • Develop and deploy new predictive statistical models for customer data analysis
  • Engineer scalable web-based reporting dashboards for enterprise reporting
  • Development and timely reporting of internal metrics for core operations

Desired skills:

  • Elite capabilities in the R programming language
  • Deep understanding of profiling and deploying R code in distributed environments
  • Capacity to design and deploy unit tests and integrate them into the development process
  • Ability to develop data pipeline architectures for consumption and analysis of information from diverse web technologies with varying communication protocols
  • Fluency with Git code management and familiarity with LaTeX/KnitR/Shiny workflows
  • Experience with cloud-based computing and low-latency data stacks
  • Bonus points for Linux Server Admin & Scrum Master experience

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Built and maintained sophisticated R packages for 2-4 years
  • Written non-standard R objects, methods, classes and is aware of latest developments in R-core and public package available through repositories like CRAN/Bioconductor
  • Familiarity with Agile software development and experience as a software product manager
  • A graduate degree in Statistics, Computer Science or the Physical Sciences with demonstrable experience in data-intensive statistical programming
