Freight Transport Demand Modeler @ Hartford, Vermont, U.S.

RSG seeks a talented and versatile travel demand modeler to assist with development and implementation of state-of-the-art regional truck models and supply-chain-based freight models in our White River Junction, Vermont office.

AS A FREIGHT TRANSPORT DEMAND MODELER

Your work involves travel demand model development, scripting, model implementation, analysis of results, documentation, and project management, with a specialization in modeling freight flows and commercial vehicle movements. As the ideal candidate, you are a team player who has a solid foundation in the theoretical concepts of commodity flows, supply chains, freight economics, and urban commercial vehicle behavior. In addition, you complement this with skills in general travel demand modeling and data analysis, such as transportation network modeling, discrete choice model estimation, model calibration/validation, scripting, and preparing documentation.

As a member of the Freight Modeling Team, you work well with clients and possess good technical judgement, analytical, computer and interpersonal skills.  You are amiable and able to communicate complex, technical materials in clear, concise and meaningful ways that non-technical people would understand. You are a resourceful, clear and creative thinker, dedicated to high quality work. You strongly desire to develop “best in class” models and forecasts and have the ability to manage a project on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
