Freelance R data wrangler

University of Gothenburg Sweden / University of Bristol UK – Posted by hanse Anywhere

Job Description

On behalf of an international team of researchers, I am looking for R consultants. We are harmonizing/unifying hundreds of data sets to onelarge data set using R and now we need more man power. The data sets are from two main sources: The DHS survey program and the MICS surveyprogram. We already have an R program to harmonize the DHS surveys – the program is about 2.500 lines of code – and now we want to adaptthe program so it will also work with the MICS surveys. We are looking for an experienced data wrangler who is used to

  • knitr and git
  • reading and understanding R programs written by others
  • import SPSS files into R
  • unifying source files that can differ in a variety of ways

The existing code relies on the =data.table= package and the =recode()= function of the CAR package, so familiarity with these is a plus.

Familiarity with the MICS survey program would of course be great, but we do not require nor expect that.
