R Programmer / Shiny Developer

RCLCO is looking for an R Programmer/Shiny Developer to join the Innovation, Data & Analytics team. This team member will work cross functionally with data analysts, consultants, and data scientists to build applications for data analysis and visualization for both internal and external clients. These tools will utilize maps and present data interactively with the ability to upload user data, modify existing data, and render reports in various formats.

 

Key duties include:

  • Participate in the building of current data products and solutions
  • Develop the ability to use our current visualization tools as well as define and create new ones
  • Build Shiny applications to deliver high quality data and utilize models created by a data science team
  • Build production grade applications and APIs
  • Create internal packages to improve efficiency and quality of R usage in the organization

Minimum Technical qualifications:

  • Experience building all parts of a Shiny application
    • UX / UI
    • Server side processing
    • Client side processing
    • Hosting, security & authentication
  • Experience deploying data in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of GIS and spatial data analysis
    • Storage data types and spatially indexed data structures
  • At least 2 years of experience working on data pipelines
  • Technical knowledge with at least 2 years of experience in most of the following:
    • Querying via SQL
    • R package development
    • Cloud deployment methodology
    • Big data processing architecture: Spark, Dask, etc.
  • Programming technology
    • Must have: R, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
    • Nice to have: Python
  • Understanding of web frameworks
  • Experience with some of the libraries: tidyverse, sf, leaflet, DT, kableExtra, shiny, bslib, shinyjs

Other Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the real estate investment industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or other quantitative field
  • Passion for data visualization
  • Ability to work independently and hit deadlines
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics in an easily digestible manner
