Full-Time Senior Scientist – Life and Health Modeling Specialist @ Boston, US

Job Description

This is a technical leadership position in the life and health modeling team within the Research and Modeling department. You will work with individuals from varied backgrounds including epidemiology, statistics, economics, and actuarial science to help expand our life and health modeling solutions for the insurance community.

Responsibilities:
Lead the team to enhance and develop pandemic and longevity models.
Manage the collection and analysis of a wide range of data for use in model development and validation.
Address client questions and attend meetings (some travel will be required) to help them better understand how our models work and the insurance risks posed by excess morbidity, mortality, and longevity.
Research scientific literature for application to model development
Perform validation and verification analysis of implemented model solutions

Experience, Knowledge, & Abilities:
Strong statistical background, including familiarity with statistical packages such as R, SAS, SPSS
Familiarity with manipulating large data sets, SQL experience preferred
Highly motivated and self-directed with track record of innovation and demonstrated experience in advancing complex projects. Technical leadership experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Solid technical programming skills (e.g. C, C++, C#, FORTRAN, Python)
Risk modeling experience, GIS skills, and/or insurance industry knowledge a plus

Requirements:
PhD in public health, natural science, computational biology, or comparable fields
Background in epidemiology, biology, or biostatistics
