• Proposed new perspectives of global risk assessment for natural hazards using reliable data sources for integrating practices in various disciplines based on investigation of common grounds and misunderstandings.
• Analyzed the magnitude and frequency of geological disasters since 1600 by getting and cleaning the data from various databases and innovating a new unified energy-based magnitude for comparison among different disasters.
• Estimated the fatalities occurred in Haiti 2010 earthquake using gridded high resolution satellite imagery provided by GeoEye-1 in ArcGIS and calculated the associated gridded socioeconomic-related resistance using a risk-based approach.
• Examined the global resistance towards earthquake disasters using R for statistical analyses of earthquake hazard in the region, exposed population at the time of events, and records of disaster casualties in the past disasters.
