Experimental design and project management

Profound experience in designing experimental setups, from the landscape to the lab scale with an emphasis on field-designs as well as workflow-establisment and team-leadership.

Analysis of biological data – classical and network-driven

Well established univariate analytical tools are natural to me, but I’m also experinced and highly interested in more complex or modern approaches, e.g. multivariate ordination techniques or network analysis.

Answering the question – hypothesis driven research

What does it all mean? Having your head deep in statistics often makes it hard to figure out what hidden messages lie in the data. I’m both skilled and experienced in extracting the quintessence out of the noise and translating it into the take home message we’re interested in.

Teaching and training

A huge joy for me and part of my position is training and teaching students of biology. This includes supervision of practical courses, as well as bachelor’s and master’s theses.
