I have a PhD in bio-economic modelling in which I developed optimal control and differential game models using Matlab and Java. I have an academic background teaching economics, mathematics and statistics and have worked at Universities in Economics, Business and Science Departments.
I have a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. in my PhD I employed Ito calculus and stochastic differential equations to develop optimal control and differential game theoretic models of livestock-pasture systems. I programmed the simulations in either Matlab or Java during this time I also dabbled in C/C++ programming for some projects. I also have a Diplom-Volkswirt degree in Economics specializing in Econometrics from Germany and BA specializing in Economics and Chinese (Mandarin) from Australia.
Currently I am working as Fisheries economics Advisor at the Pacific Island Forum Fisheries Agency where I have been developing Apps for training purpsoes using R Shiny and building data science pipelines for data acquisition, storage, analysis and reporting using R and Postgressql. I am primarily working with techniques for mixed frequency data and using both traditional econometric methods and machine e-learning methods for predictive analytics.
I am also interested in speech recognition and machine translation using Python.
My last position was as Visiting Professor in agricultural economics and Agribusiness at International College Beijing, China Agricultural University.
PreviouslyI work as a researcher in Epidemiology at the University of Glasgow developing bio-economic models of disease transmission in R. I have been doing this for three years. I previously worked at La Rochelle Business School in France where I taught Economics, Project management and Statistics. I have also worked in Canada at the University of Alberta in the school of Business, where I taught Microeconomics, Environmental Economics and Energy Economics and Natural Resource Economics. I completed my PhD at the University of Queensland in Australia where I also taught Economics, mostly Microeconomics and Statistics however I also tutored classes in biological modelling and in linear programming. In total I have taught Statistics at University Level for over five years.
