Bioinformatician – Omics
My name is Mario Cangiano, I am 26 years old and I’ve successfully obtained a Master’s degree in Genetic Sciences and Technologies at the University of Sannio, Italy.
My educational background is in cell biology and genetics but during my master thesis I have acquired expertise in R package development and UNIX programming as well. I can handle big biological data (NGS above all) to solve integrative tasks through the application of statistical and machine-learning approaches.
Working at the Bioinformatic Core of Biogem S.C.ar.L, I have participated in several studies and projects regarding cancer omics analysis and tumor pathway-based classifcation.
I have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. I am easy-going, flexible and a quickly adaptable guy.
I would like to prosecute my work in the field of omic data analysis, even as a freelance.

I’m really interested in Quantitative biology, Bioinformatics, Data Mining and Statistical elaboration of data. I have been attracted by the knowledge that we can obtain from the right elaboration of high-throughput analysis results. I believe that modern biological methodologies give us the possibility to achieve a wider and holistic understanding of many complex disease, paving the way to the development of patient-specific therapies.
