Summary

Presently a PhD student who is just finishing who specialises in data manipulation and automation, network analysis, spatial statistics, parallel processing.

R is my main tool for data manipulation, visualisation and analysis. I use PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and pgRouting for my spatial and network analysis. Python every now and then, when it is better suited to a task.

Education

My education includes:

  1. PhD (Geography) from Massey University, NZ (Not fully completed).
  2. MSc (Geography — FC)  from University of Auckand, NZ.
  3. BSc (Geography and Earth Science)  from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ.

Experience

  • Spatial Analyst, Massey University, Auckland, 2012–present.
    As a spatial data analyst, I perform the function of advising and undertaking
    spatial analysis. Tasks include: data cleaning, data manipulation, visualisation,
    and program automation.
  • Spatial Analyst, MRCagney, Auckland, 2016.
    This involves automating data analysis workflows using R. Some projects included
    the creation of a model of GDP in New Zealand and, the development of a web
    application (Shiny) to analyse the impacts of urban policy regulation on house
    prices in New Zealand.
