The Algorithmic Research Team in F5’s Tel-Aviv R&D center is looking for an Applied Researcherto help solve hard real world problems. We call this an innovation catalyst. The successful candidate will conduct independent and joint research, create PoCs and work closely with development managers, sales, customers and engineers to define requirements, create strategic roadmap, and enable and facilitate productization of resulting solutions to given business problems. “From problem inception to money making operational product”: Plans strategically and provides value (a minimum viable product) from early initial stages.

  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Strong software engineering and design skills
  • High coding proficiency and familiarity with Linux
  • Ability to conduct reproducible research
  • High proficiency in at least one scripting language, ideally, Python or Perl
  • Proficiency with tools such as R, Octave, Python Data Tools
  • Proven record of providing hands on technical leadership in a fast-paced organization
  • Proven experience in web scale implementation in production – an advantage
  • Familiarity in problem solving in Computer Networking and in Information Security
  • MSc or higher in Computer Sciences or equivalent with deep understanding of Algorithms/Machine Learning/Big Data and ideally also in Networking/Security/Cloud Computing
  • Passion for learning new technologies, and a track record of doing so
  • Proactive, “can do”, get-things-done, “go getter” and hands-on
  • Good interpersonal skills
