For this project, the goal of the internship will be to identify the biological determinants related to cerebral activity which are sensitive to the different infant formula.

Available Databases: The cerebral activity of rats were determined by in vivo imaging techniques (TEP scan). Biological Large scale data were collected at different levels : the metagenome (gut bacteria), cerebral transcriptome (gene expression in the brain) and related activities, intestinal and cerebral metabolome. All data are already corrected for any error due to the experiment (experimental artefact).

Data analyses will be done using R. Interpretation of the results will be carried out in close collaboration with a team of the Center for Cardiovascular and Nutrition Research (C2VN, Marseille), lead by Jean-Charles Martin.

1 Metabolomic refers to the identification and quantification of small molecules (metabolic products) of a biological sample (cell, tissue, organ, biological fluid, or organism) under specific conditions, generally using techniques of mass spectrometry and NMR (Nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy. Metabolomics profiles are often compared between samples, obtained under normal conditions and with altered states promoted by disease, drug treatment, dietary intervention, etc.
