Data management – a part time job offer or freelance contract
Czech University of Life Sciences, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, Department of Forest Ecology
Forest Ecology group are currently seeking for the data management colleague for their team. You will become a leader of the data management and participate in extracting, cleaning and manipulating large quantities of environmental/ecological data. In particular you will be responsible to keep SQL data-base running, extracting and adding new data, and providing simple summary and graphical output.
Key responsibilities:
• leading large data-base management; • cleansing, and processing data from different sources and incorporating it into existing data-base; • developing, testing, and running multiple scripts for data extraction and simple analysis; • writing technical and user documentation and process descriptions (to be discussed).

Required skills:
• basics of data discovery, modelling, retrieval and profiling; • basics of data mining and statistics; • strong knowledge of R; • experience with database SQL; • experience with spatial analysis languages (R, ArcGIS, QGis); • strong analytical, numerical and programming skills;
Nice to have skills:
• advanced programming in SQL, R and / or Python; • experience with large data sets; • experience with reporting and visualization large data; • interest in scientific cooperation and research; • previous work with ecological data; • spoken and written English.
