Junior R Developer

New Hire for NPL Markets Ltd., Preferred NL/AT/UK, REMOTE UK/EU

NPL Markets facilitates the trading and analysis of performing and non-performing bank loan portfolios throughout Europe. NPLM develops and maintains a series of web applications that cover ETL, valuation and reporting, and an online marketplace which enables end-to-end deal management.

We are looking for a junior R Developer who will support our full stack application development. The ideal candidate has experience using R and its tidyverse and data.table libraries, SQL and preferably the R Shiny framework and is willing to support both front-end and back-end work. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and release new features with clear and tested code. Lead and deliver small projects independently. 
• Take responsibility, understand, test and extend existing applications. Contribute to at least one web app as a full-stack developer.
• Work with stakeholders to understand complex credit data sets, valuation algorithms, and reporting functions. 
• You will work on R packages to improve existing algorithms and tooling that support our products.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving and coding skills and data fluency with an emphasis on application development.
• Experience using R for data analysis and preferably also with developing R libraries for creating reproducible methodologies and backend functions.
• Experience with relational data(bases) and SQL. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Interest in finance and valuation of debt instruments. Experience with securitisation analytics and reporting is an advantage.

Rewards

• Attractive compensation package as employee (preferred) or contractor. 
• Base salary between GBP 35,000 and 60,000 depending on experience.
