What you can expect

As part of an enthusiastic global team of experts within the unit Digitalization in R&D, you will provide quantitative decision support to our life sciences research and development activities.

o In detail, your tasks will range from the modelling and analysis of experimental data to the development of biostatistical procedures for digital workflows and big-data platforms.

o Given your expertise, you will advise and train our research chemists, biologists and agronomists in the design and analysis of laboratory, greenhouse and field trials around the world.

o You will provide guidance to your customers regarding data collection and processing.

o Moreover, you will play a significant role in managing projects that drive innovative digital solutions that allow scientists to plan experiments, explore and analyse their data most effectively.

What we expect

o During your PhD in natural sciences with a focus on Biostatistics / Bioinformatics or your degree in Applied Statistics / Data Sciences, you have gained experience in modelling biological or agricultural data.

o In addition, you have a solid knowledge of experimental design and the application of linear models and/or the use of machine learning in these fields.

o You are fluent in programming in R and have an understanding of programming R-Shiny apps. Your knowledge in Python or JavaScript is complementing your programming skills.

o Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably German are your means to convey your expertise to our customers.

o In addition to your professional skills, your distinct entrepreneurial and team spirit is persuading.
