• Performed Linear Support Vector Machine (LSVM), Radial Support Vector Machine (RVM), and Random Forest classifications to classify diabetes in Pima Native American women in R
• Used the Random Forest model to plot the variable of importance, with the most important variable at the top and the least important variable at the bottom
• Visualized the nondiabetic and diabetic groups on LSVM and RSVM plots

Financial Forecasting Project

(APRIL 2017 – JUNE 2017)

• Modeled and forecasted the total number of bitcoins in the market in R
• Chose two autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models from the autocorrelation correlation function (ACF) and partial autocorrelation function (PACF)
• Picked the best-fitted model from these two models through AICC testing and performed diagnostic tests on its residuals to better understand the model’s behavior

Infectious Disease Modeling Project                                                         (SEPTEMBER 2016 – DECEMBER 2016)

• Modeled a combination of covariates to predict the time until reinfection of gonorrhea, syphilis, or both occur in R
• Visualized and approximated the Kaplan-Meier estimator to estimate the rate of reinfection over time
• Checked that the chosen model did not violate the proportional hazards assumption by creating log-log plots for all eight covariates and analyzed the convergence or nonconvergence of the lines in the plot
