Summary

Mr. Jonesmus Wambua is a professional statistician with MSC social statistics and over 5 year experience working as a statistician. Jonesmus leads and coordinates research activities in JHPIEGO Kenya office including developing research protocols, supervising protocol implementation, data analysis as well as development of manuscripts for publication, mentoring staff on research methods and offering statistical expertise to all JHPIEGO staff. Previously, Jonesmus has worked in large research projects such the Malaria Public health department of the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust research Programme and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).

Was involved in collating community based malariometric data for several African Countries. Lead the development of Bayesian Spatio-temporal models for predicting malaria hotspots in Africa, developing manuscripts for publication and mentoring staff on statistical methods through the journal club.

May 2010 – November 2012

Data Analyst, International Livestock Research Institute

Lead statistical modelling of food prices volatility in eastern and southern Africa and worked with technical staff in developing periodic food prices issue briefs. Developed a food prices data portal collating prices of commodities from different countries in the eastern and southern Africa region.
