Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Analytics team.  You will use a variety of statistical tools to solve large-scale problems related to split testing, user acquisition, data mining, statistics and machine learning.  We work closely with our game designers and business analysts to formalize questions related to our games, players, player behaviors & player value and develop algorithms, statistical models, and predictive analytics to answer those questions.  You will be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated models and working with our teams to analyze and report results.


Essential Functions

  • Work with product owners to identify and track key performance indicators
  • Build, test and validate classification and predictive models
  • Perform advanced SQL queries as needed in response to business user needs
  • Perform analysis of realtime data flowing into and out of database systems and accurately interpret, prepare and communicate results
  • Perform data manipulations such as data imports, exports and updates
  • Assist with data mining and API development and connectivity with 3rd party data vendors

  • SPSS and other Statistical software
  • Amazon Web Services: Kinesis, Redshift, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Pipeline, EMR, EC2, Beanstalk



  • MSc/PhD in Statistics, Math or related degree with 2+ years experience – OR – BS in Statistics, Math or related degree with 4+ years experience
  • 3+ years hands-on experience and proficiency with:
    • Computational Programming with Python / R
    • Statistical Modeling
    • Machine Learning
      • Classification Systems, Recommendation Systems, Predictive Modeling
    • Advanced SQL querying large, complex dataset using relational databases
    • Using big data technologies and building predictive systems on big data platforms (AWS a plus)
    • Visualization tools experience with Tableau, or others a plus
  • Strong data interpretation, visualization and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain statistical approaches/models used, rationale/merits of different approaches, results and interpretation to team members
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Intellectually curious / quick thinker
  • Willingness / ability to take ownership as technical lead of a project
